Prominent Erie Township Farmer Dies After Illness

William D. Biddle died at his Erie township home Saturday afternoon from heart trouble after seven years of poor health. He was born September 18, 1860 in Ohio and moved to Miami county as an infant, living most of his life in Erie township. Survived by wife Ella Beckley, son Sylvester Biddle, and sister Mrs. Albert Fouts. Funeral was held Tuesday at the home and burial in Mexico cemetery.

Musselman Family Attends Wabash Valley Veterinary Meet

Dr. and Mrs. G. W. Musselman and daughter Maxine drove to Logansport on Wednesday for the Wabash Valley Veterinary Association meeting in the Chamber of Commerce rooms. Mrs. Musselman and daughter joined other ladies at Mrs. Kikmiller’s home, and Baptist Church ladies hosted a six o'clock dinner in the basement.

Christmas Eve Entertainment at M. E. Church

A Christmas program will be presented at the M. E. Church on Xmas Eve starting at 7:00. The event features a varied program, a Christmas tree, and Santa Claus. Attendees may place gifts on the tree and are urged to come observe the festive evening.

Narrow escape as washing machine injures Mrs Place

Mrs R S Place escaped serious harm but sustained cuts and bruises when her clothing was drawn into a washing machine fly wheel during morning chores. Dr Waymire treated the injuries and she was recovering, with a report that she may sit up today. Her mother Mrs Grant Moon of Peru arrived to visit and stay several days.

Parents Pack Schoolhouse for Rainy Evening PT A Meeting

Despite mud and rain the schoolhouse assembly room filled for the Tuesday Parent-Teachers meeting. Pupils delivered an engaging program with notable debaters while eighth grade girls sold home made pumpkin pie doughnuts and coffee to raise over six dollars for kitchen equipment. January meeting to be organized by patrons with another big gathering promised.

Baptist Church members planned and carried out a delightful surprise for Rev J J Johnson Friday evening at the Clinton Murphy home where he lives while here. Guests joined in lively kid games and hearty laughter followed by ice cream and cake as the jolly social time left fond memories.

Rural schools to close for Christmas break

Township trustees at the regular monthly meeting in the county superintendent�s office approved a one week vacation. Rural schools will dismiss on Friday before Christmas and reopen Monday December 8. Teachers and pupils will spend New Year�s Day in the classroom.

Mrs Dora Place and Miss Pearl Ballee have moved into a brick veneer residence on East Harrigan Street Denver described as the town’s first of its kind. Rollin Place and family will relocate from the Washington Street home to Harrison and Yorick Streets after renovations. Norman Benham and family will shift from the A P Guise dwelling to the vacated residence.

Surprise Wedding Ties Cunningham and Johnson in Peru

Miss Ruby Cunningham and Herbert Johnson wed quietly in St. Joseph Michigan on November 21. The couple, returning the same day, plan to live with the bride’s parents in Peru where Johnson works. Both families extend best wishes for a happy life together.

Phyllis Louise, a 74 pound bright eyed baby girl, arrives at the home of Mr and Mrs Oscar Brown on a Wednesday afternoon. James and family visit the new addition as nurse Guise tends mother and child. Grandparents welcomed and congratulated.

M. E. Ladies Aid share Christmas gifts and meals

The M. E. Ladies Aid Society met at Mrs. Foster Long’s home on Wednesday afternoon for a lively session. A Christmas program preceded a Santa Claus visit with a gift basket. Revival Services In Progress At Denver Brethren Church

Revival services began Monday evening at the Denver Brethren Church with Rev. W. F. Johnson in charge and Miss Chloe Mobier leading the singing. Weather has kept crowds small but interest is rising. Fisher infant Wilbur Wayne dies after illness

Wilbur Wayne Fisher infant son of Omer and Leora Fisher dies after illness at home three miles north of Obili. He became ill Sunday with bowel trouble and passed away Monday night around 11 30. Funeral services were held at the church with Rev Glare officiating.
