Community notice lists band concert in Denver on Saturday night. Sunday School at Denver 9 30 a m led by Leo Long and H W Park with Cruron in Chili for 9 30 a m service Amos Long superintendent preaching morning and evening by H W Park pastor.
The Brethren Church advertises a Bible Study at 9 30 a m and Christian Endeavor at 7 o clock led by Pastor A T Wirtes. The public is invited to all services.

The Misses Rhoda and Clea Bacon visited Rochester with their aunt. Mrs Omer Yoder and Hazel spent time with Mrs George Staller in Mexico. L L Buck and Omer Yoder attended in Deedsville. D Elbert Brown called on Yoder. Omer Yoder visited Roscoe Miller. Sylvia Austin called on her aunt Lem Buck. Sarah Bayless of Mexico visited son Charles Bayless and family. Than Buck and daughter Mary of Logansport stayed with L L Buck family. Roy Mills family and Neil Wilson visited Dayton Staller and Mr Andre Bunnell.
Brenson Doud, 61, prominent farmer living two miles north of Chili, died Thursday at 6:45 PM after fourteen months illness. Funeral Saturday at 3 PM from his residence, conducted by Rev. Park of Denver and Rev. J.B. Cook of Warsaw. Burial in Chili cemetery. Born near Chili in 1859, he married Ida May Robins in 1885. Survived by widow and children Lorenzo, Emma, Even tua, Elizabeth, and Wilbert Doud, plus Lucian Doud, Mrs. Richard Robins, and Mrs. Olive Murphy. one brother and two sisters.
The state department of conservation will distribute 116000 new combination licenses to county clerks and agents. Last October 106000 licenses were sold out by Aug 1. Resident licenses are canary color and non resident licenses pale green. The licenses do not include a laws synopsis on the reverse side per division chief George N Mannfeld due to possible law revisions.
Public notice requests that all news items letters and advertisements be submitted to the Tribune office by Tuesday noon for typesetting. It advises telephone or mail delivery and instructs leaving items in the mailbox if the office is closed.
Dr and Mrs G W Musselman and children Donald and Maxine along with Mr and Mrs Fred Landis of Peru left Denver for a few days vacation. They will visit Dodgeville Wisconsin to see Dr Warn and wife and travel with a full camping outfit planning to do most meals themselves.
Charles Hoover manager of Denver Co-Operative Telephone Co and Jesse Miller were hurt when Hoover lost control near Pipe Creek Falls southwest of Peru. Miller uninjured. Hoover suffered two fractured ribs. They were later helped by Peru residents Fultz Castin and Pontius whose car then went into a ditch. all injured were taken to Peru and Hoover to Denver for treatment.
After a one year lapse the Chili Old Settlers Picnic will be held at Flora grove one mile south of Chili along the Winona Interurban Line next Saturday August 28. A new organization revived the event and officials expect crowds equal to or greater than previous years. The selected grove is described as ideal and permanent stands will be erected to ensure a pleasant day for attendees.
The ice cream social at Mexico Baptist Church last Wednesday evening was financially successful. The Denver Merchants Band performed and their share of the proceeds totaled 47.50, pleasing attendees with quality music and solid results.

Mrs. Lewis Gustin is slowly recovering from a Sunday accident after a car on the wrong side cut in front of their vehicle during a Rochester aeroplane exhibition visit. The Gustins’ car sustained minor damage while Mr Gustin remained unhurt. Mrs Gustin suffered a brief memory lapse but is recovering from the shock.
Mr and Mrs Jonas Earhart of Andrews attended the English Reunion in Peru. They were joined by Mrs Emma Dillman and three children from Wabash County near Roanno-Sentinel.
An ice cream social will be held in Denver on Thursday evening September 2 under the auspices of the Methodist Sunday School and Denver Merchants Band. Music will accompany the evening with plenty of ice cream and cake. Everybody welcome.
The Annual Staller reunion will be held at Peru City Park on the first Sunday in September, September 5. Relatives are urged to attend and join the family gathering.
A Peru tire seller touts Dou ble Fabric Auto Tires and Tubes. The ad claims customers gain 11 000 to 13 000 miles per set and promises the lowest prices on cheap tires. Harry L. Hagee invites come in.

Health is good in Twelve Mile and threshing is nearly done as oats crop proves strong. The Twelve Mile Elevator Co pays sixty cents a bushel for oats. John Teel sold a 38 acre Adams Township farm near the Twelve Mile Christian Church for 5000 dollars to Mr. Shard. The Northwestern Indiana Christian Conference at Burrows was its 76th session August 17 18 and 19 with strong attendance and officers re-elected. The writer visited Burrows Camden Logansport and Twelve Mile, noting residents Charley and Hugh Skinner. The Twelve Mile Christian Church organ, Newman Brothers, is for sale at ten dollars call Louis Rimpler Route 21 Twelve Mile.
Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Dice with Miss Ruth Lacey and Miss Nellie Waggoner spent Sunday afternoon at Rochester attending a flying machine exhibition.
Miss Ruth Lacey of Bippus stayed with her sister Mrs. L. H. Dice from Friday to Monday. She planned to travel next to Fort Wayne to visit relatives for a few days.
