Grand Family Reunion Honors Cornelius Lowe Ninety

Last Saturday marked Cornelius Lowe's seventy ninth birthday with a family reunion at the old home. Attendees included Mr and Mrs I. and Lukens of Wranklin, Artindale and children of Chili, A. L. Lowe and wife of Rochester, Quimby and John Lowe, and Grandma Lanes as guest of honor. Visitors Eba Dukes of Akron and Jennie Wilson of Goshen photographed at J. H. Waite's home. Perry township sent teachers and prospects to the county institute.

Rev Oren Cook of Lebanon Indiana will preach next Sunday at the Baptist church. Carrie and Alice Bteel with Hanna Nixon attended the Athens picnic on Saturday. Mrs Jane Steel has been on the sick list. Palmer Carvey visited relatives in Plymouth over Sunday. Will Belt returned to Waverly Minnesota on Tuesday.

G. A. R. Picnic Enjoys Ideal Riverside Gathering

The G. A. R. picnic at Hoff's grove beside the Eel River drew a modest Denver crowd after dinner with the Rand y providing music. Speakers included Rev. Cumberland and Editor Spotts among others, plus songs by Miss Kile and Comrade Orr. Organizers hope for a similar event next year, a boon after the Soldiers' Reunion era. Rubbers and caps for glass fruit jars advertised by Wm. Kessler & Bro.
