Death of Omer Balsbaugh at eighteen
Omer Balsbaugh, eighteen, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Balsbaugh living south of town, died Thursday morning at home after a three week typhoid illness. Fever broke Sunday but a paralysis stroke Wednesday led to his death. Funeral and burial were at Mexico. He was a well regarded young man with many friends and the family receives deep sympathy.

Lee Grimes Shot Near New Waverly While Hunting
Lee Grimes son of Mr and Mrs C E Grimes and a Denver figure was accidentally shot in the leg by a fifteen year old boy near New Waverly. The bullet from a 22 caliber rifle lodged near the body but could not be found by Dr Line of Chili. Grimes rested at home Tuesday night and is expected to recover and resume duties at the New Waverly store.
