Letter from Anderson of Maldstone Saskatchewan recounts high yields from 1909 1910 crop and favorable rains. He notes 22% bushels of wheat per acre and 60 bushels of oats on 85 acres in 1909 and credit to good weather and drainage. mentions high quality grain cited in February inspections and strong prospects for Canadian farming.
James Simpson 35 unmarried is fatally wounded in Evansville by Mrs Jennie Mallai wardrobe mistress of the Norris Rowe circus. Earlier a crowd gathered near the women performers dressing tent and Mallai fired a shot through canvas to frighten them. Simpson was struck in the left temple.
Charles A. Revelee age 19 confessed to murdering Mrs. Frank Allison near Cambridge City on April 6. He said robbery motive and that Mrs. Allison interrupted him during a valuables search. after arrest he broke down. The home was set on fire and neighbors rescued the body from flames.
James Clark a Union prisoner known as Foamer Clark died at his Logansport home. He was among twelve northern peddlers impressed into the Confederate army at Andersonville. In their first engagement the group tried to escape. all but Clark were shot.
Glanford Eads, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Eads, near Smithville, died after swallowing a button hook that lacerated his throat and caused blood poisoning during five days of suffering while doctors tried to remove the steel.
Burrell Brown returns home to Fort Wayne to find his wife with Emmett Williams and shoots Williams fatally wounding his wife. Edward Brazes, after funeral duties in Harrodsburg for Bedford, is killed on the Chicago Indianapolis and Louisville Railroad track. Farmers haul corn to Owensville mills at 68 cents per bushel with large yields. Bloodhounds lead farmer posses in the search for Mrs. Frank Allison’s killer who burned the farmhouse to cover the crime. lynching is feared if captured. The murder occurred before noon with brutal blows from a hatchet.
