Mothers Day will be observed at the Denver M E Church on May 14 after Sunday School. A splendid program is planned and mothers will receive carnations. All mothers are urged to attend with their children and bring dads to share in the service.
State law sets town speed limits at 15 mph in resident districts and 10 mph in business districts. Marshal E S Kline says to drive carefully to avoid trouble and expense and will enforce the law in Denver.

On Monday May 1st the Denver School pupils present an Old English May Day on the school lawn. The 17th century themed program features music games contests drills crowning of the May queen and a May pole dance. An exhibit of the pupils industrial work will be open at noon with the program at 130 PM.
After a brief run the Denver Bakery shuts its doors. Merchants now import bread from Peru, Logansport, and Colfax. The late operator Mr Stewart cites rising material costs and lack of housing in Denver. Bread prices rise citywide. Hope rises for new ownership to reopen the bakery.
