America’s Gift to France to Aid Statue Project

Indiana school children are urged to participate in a national fundraiser titled America’s Gift to France. The plan directs every child to contribute from a penny to a dime during the week of March 29, 1920, to support a statue on the Marne battlefield honoring France. Governor James P. Goodrich serves as honorary chairman.

Jefferson Township to Seek Bonds for School Building

The trustees and advisory board of Jefferson Township Miami County Indiana filed with the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners a petition to issue 69827.80 dollars in bonds for a consolidated Grade and High School at Mexico town. The hearing is set at the State House Indianapolis at 1 30 P M on April 19 1920.

Properties Change Hands in Denver Area Deals

Real estate activity last week in Denver saw Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Raber selling their West Denver home to a Peru party and buying the Leedys depot-adjacent residence. The Leedys then bought the Deedsville residence of Mrs. J. M. Lee, with possession immediate. Edgar Stanton bought his mother Mrs. Jacob Stanton’s East Harrison Street residence and plans to move with his wife to Yorick Street this spring after his father’s death. The mother will auction personal property next Saturday and then live with Edgar and his wife.

Hammond for Representative from Miami County

The Tribune announces W. A. Hammond as a Democratic candidate for Representative from Miami County. Hammond comes from a business background with Hammond & Jackson Funeral Directors and previously ran his own enterprise after eleven years as a Wabash Railroad engineer. He also led as mayor of Peru and served in the State Legislature in 1910 and 1911.

Perrysburg Baby Dies of Illness

The nine months old child of Mr and Mrs Charles Friend of Perrysburg died on Tuesday. Funeral services are set for this afternoon at two o'clock in Perrysburg. Charles Dewald and his wife from Denver attended the funeral, being relatives of the infant.
