Local Telephone Manager Gets Gold Emblem
F A Greaves manager of the Denton Maryland office of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Baltimore receives a twenty year gold emblem. In Maryland 255 other employees win gold service emblems. C H Chalkley Baltimore office receives a diamond studded emblem for thirty five years. Emblems range from one star for five years to a diamond for thirty five years with additional ruby and diamond variants for specific milestones. Court Convenes Monday For Its October Term
The Circuit Court for Caroline county opens Monday for its October term with a docket of 32 appearances, 45 trials, 8 appeals and errors, 4 criminal continuances, 14 criminal appeals, 2 recognizances and 17 grand jury sessions. Thirteen larceny cases are among the recognizances. one continuance involves selling liquor to a minor on October 4, 1931. Benjamin Rollison v Dr. W Henry Fisher was moved from Queen Anne's. Jurors are listed by district, totaling 48 with six in each district across eight districts, including names such as Heather, Lord, Shively, Chue, Smith, Shewbrooks, and others.

Re-Employment Service Organized Here Tuesday
The Caroline county branch of the National Re-employment Service was organized last Tuesday during a conference between Oliver C. Short state Re-employment Commissioner and the new county committee. Emory D. Kimmey of Denton was chosen chairman with Noble Jarr ell of Goldsboro as secretary. John R. Ricards of Hobbs was named manager of the office opened Friday at 9 a.m. in the County Commissioners' office for unemployment registrations. Ricards will schedule days for different county sections and seek job opportunities in private and public enterprises. Public works referrals require a work card. The re-employment committee now includes Dr. H. F. Silver of Goldsboro, W. Foster Clark of Henderson, Mrs. J. Spencer Lapham of Goldsboro, Mrs. L. Irving Jones of Greensboro, Mrs. Mary Rowe of Hillsboro, Harry M. Hollis of Preston, Kimmey, Jarrell, and Dr. Silver. Ridgely Federalsburg and the Eighth American Corner district are to appoint additional members.

Unfinished Tasks of the Kingdom Address at Dinner
Professor Wilbur Jump spoke at a Denton church meeting sponsored by the Caroline County Council of Religious Education. A fellowship supper preceded the talk as pastors and teachers from Denton Federalsburg and Ridgely gathered. Plans for the Co operative Standard Training School were announced with a 75 cent registration fee and six sessions from September 29 to November 27.
