The Denton Women's Club starts its 1962 63 season with a covered dish luncheon at the clubhouse at 1 pm Friday October 5. State and Eastern Shore District officers will attend and Mrs. Morgan E. Williams will sing selections from The Music Man.

Open House At Beck Chevrolet Weekend Adds 1963 Line

Mr George W Beck announces the 1963 Chevrolet line at Beck Chevrolet with a weekend Open House for Friday and Saturday. The 1963 lineup includes 31 models with 13 full size Chevrolets 10 Chevy IIs 6 Corvairs and 2 Corvettes. Visitors will see redesigned bodies and new features such as self adjusting brakes anti smog devices amber lights and aluminum Powerglide casing.

The Caroline County Garden Club opened its fall meeting on September 20 in Oxford Maryland with president Mrs W Edwin Unger hosting a luncheon at the Parish House. After the business session members cruised the Tred Avon reflecting fall scenery and shoreline homes.

Wilkes 200 Draws 30 Wheelers for Sunday's Race

North Wilkesboro Speedway prepares for the Wilkes 200 NASCAR late model race with about 30 top speedsters in contention, testing in qualifying on Saturday and racing Sunday at 2 pm. Rex White defends the title as Fireball Roberts Day honors the track’s long history with Pontiacs, Fords, Chevrolets and Pontiacs led by Petty, Paschal and Lorenzen among others. Qualifying starts 1 pm Saturday for starting positions in the 320 lap event.

Harvest Ball Staged By Denton Memorial Auxiliary

The Den ton Unit Memorial Hospital Junior Auxiliary will host its eleventh Harvest Ball on Saturday November 10 at the Denton Armory with a catered dinner-dance. Proceeds fund a nursing scholarship awarded every three years to a Caroline County girl, most recently Miss Dorothy Boczon who began training at Memorial Hospital in Skaston in September, and support a medical library used by doctors and nurses for studying new techniques.

Tawes to Speak at North Caroline High School Rally

Governor Tawes will headline a Democratic rally at North Caroline High School on Saturday September 29 with running mates Daniel Brewster Louis Goldstein Thomas Finan and Carlton Sickles. Engravings Presented To Caroline County Schools

The Society of the Cincinnati of Maryland gave Caroline County twelve engravings depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the drafting of the Constitution. Presented to W S Hoppengardner, Superintendent, the prints will be displayed in all twelve county school buildings. The Cincinnati society funds the engravings through nationwide donations to highlight constitutional history and patriotism. Rogers C Morton of Easton presented the gifts, honoring his five-times great uncle General George Rogers Clark.
