The ninth annual Save-A-Life Vehicle Inspection Campaign runs October 1–31 across Maryland, requiring all registered motor vehicles to pass a state inspection to receive new license plates for 1937. About 1500 inspection stations will offer free checks of brakes, sights, horns, steering, wipers, mirrors, license tags, windshields, and bumper guards, with safe defects repaired before sticker issuance. In 1936, 6431 autos were inspected and many had unsafe brakes and lighting issues corrected.
