Non allotment Wheat Farm Option Under AAA Changes
Farmers may classify as non allotment wheat farms under AAA changes aimed at small farms. The option lets hay pasture or cover crops receive typical farming while wheat is grown with limited harvest. Those choosing non allotment lose wheat loans and price supports but gain other conservation payments. Landlords and tenants must decide by Sept 30 by writing to the county office.
