Miracle House to Stay Open for Several Weeks Longer
The Miracle House tuberculosis preventorium in Maryland will remain open for several more weeks with about fifty children. Normal weight students will return September 7 to start school, while underweight children stay a bit longer for further treatment. Managing Director William B. Matthews notes past success and says longer stay benefits late arrivals and those not yet at normal weight. The facility is funded by the annual Tuberculosis Christmas Seals sale, starting Thanksgiving Day.

Private Employment Placements Rise In Maryland July 1937
During July 1937 the Maryland State Employment Service placed 2 630 workers, with the Eastern Office reporting a five month 100 rise in private placements over the prior year. WPA and PWA placements fell by at least 50 in the same period. Private placements have grown monthly since January 1 1937, aided by expanded field visits. Easton staff continually visit employers to solicit work and inform them of services. unemployed and job seekers are urged to visit Easton or field stations. Contact details for Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, and Queen Anne counties are provided, with hours 9 00 a m to 5 00 p m weekdays and early closing Saturdays.
