Big Time At Opening Of New Dover Airport

Dover hosts a two day aviation dedication with Tony Little directing a packed program. Visitors will see Treasure Hunt flights, Auto-Giros, and demonstrations by pilots, bands, and national guard searchlights. A Sunday Auto Race for cars under fifteen dollars plus a free airplane ride awaits winners.

Flower Show Chairmen Named for Caroline County Festival

Plans for the Second Annual Flower Festival by the Homemakers and Garden Clubs of Caroline County, with University of Maryland Extension Service aid, set for September 22 and 23 in Denton. Chairmen named include General H. H. Nuttle, Exhibit P. R. Fisher, Finance R. G. Williams, and Tea Room James Thawley.

Judge J Owens Knotts selected forty eight jurors for the October term of the Circuit Court in Caroline County. Caroline County Forms Wheat Production Control Group

Farmers of Caroline county organize the Wheat Production Control Association with one director and two committeemen from each election district. Meeting set in Denton on September 5 to finalize structure. Directors include Arthur Sittig Marydel and Zeth Weaver Greensboro, with eight district directors and their committeemen listed. County agent William H. Evans of Denton leads campaign with an advisory committee from multiple towns.

Twentieth Century Community Club Thanks Helpers

The club thanks all who assisted at the federation picnic and the hostess club for entertaining a large crowd of members and friends. Plans include an annual display at Choptank at the next meeting and a fair exhibit at the Denton flower show despite hard times. The Ladies Aid of the M P Church at Choptank enjoyed a gathering at the Williamson home in August. The September meeting will be at the Spence home on the 6th. members are urged to attend.

Caroline County Must Do Her Part In NRA Program

The NRA plan aims to put five million men to work quickly, boosting national trade by 10 to 20 percent and lifting prosperity. Caroline County is urged to participate, with employers reducing hours and consumers buying only from complying businesses. Citizens should sign the Blanket Code and Consumer Pledge, believing coordinated effort will restore prosperity and secure value in assets.

Dover Man Wins Chevrolet Fair Trip

A nationwide Chevrolet sales contest during May and June sent 958 salesmen and 1,074 zone executives to the World’s Fair. J. H. Metz of Dover Delaware led the Baltimore zone with 104 total vehicles sold, as the event highlighted strong farm regions and top regional performances.
