Man 30 Accused In Fatal Stabbing In Federalsburg
Walter Brummell, 30, is jailed in Denton on a murder charge after a 2 am stabbing in the Williams home in Federalsburg. Raymond Williams, 59, a farmhand, died of a chest stab wound. Brummell allegedly stabbed Williams during a fight sparked by Williams’ son. Williams died at Dr. Lennon’s office from internal hemorrhages. Trooper W. Harold Weir arrested Brummell two hours later at his home.

Seaford Symphonic Choir Delivers Notable Annual Concert
Seaford Symphonic Choir presented a well balanced program at Caroline High School Auditorium last Sunday. Under Miss Julia Herbert Wilson and accompanist Miss Anna Lee Butler the choir showed growth in style and musicianship through a capella pieces solos duets and Bizet Carmen finale. Thaddeus Komorowski’s Toreador Song drew strong applause as the group delivered a finely finished concert.

The Greensboro Homemakers Club held its regular meeting on Tuesday October 9 at Mrs Gray son Wheatley s home with Mrs Harry Bastian as co host. Hospital Building Fund Opening Dinner Held Monday At Easton
Easton officers report 159 subscriptions totaling 0965 535.02 for the Memorial Hospital building fund at the opening dinner for 400 workers launching a two week public campaign in the Easton Armory. Davis C Burroughs said more reports would follow as groups continue door to door drives. Dr William D Noble announced 77550 for doctors and pledged further effort. The Caroline division includes 163 workers under Mrs K Thomas Everngam and others. John D Noble said 461 teams are enlisted across three counties with a Negro division of 201 workers. A nursing team aims to raise 5500 for a hospital room to honor nurses, with hospital employees also organized.

Choptank Electric Co operative Employees Strike Over Wages
About 50 of 57 Choptank Electric Cooperative workers in Denton walked out on Monday October 15 in a wage and working condition demand. IBEW Local 1707 members authorized the stoppage after management delayed talks since June and promised to resume negotiations the week of October 8. Seven nonunion workers did not strike.
