Farm Notes on Cabbage Storage and Crops 1910 Update
Guidance on cabbage storage advises dry patch,-cabbages pulled and packed with 5 to 10 inches of soil, minimal heating, and buried beds 4 to 6 feet wide. Notes a contrasting season with light tomato pack in 1910, wheat up from decline, corn steadier on wet-weather hints, and a looming turkey price trend in Pennsylvania. Also recommends whitewash to deter vermin, replacing upper soil, and fire protection for timber tracts. Thomas Bryan of Kent County Maryland reportedly harvested 150 tons from 15 acres.
