Abnormal Pressure Changes Linked to Dry Summer
Weather Bureau analysis attributes the dry season to global atmospheric pressure shifts. A mild 1920-21 winter and unusually high semipermanent ocean pressures altered storm paths, reducing rainfall. As a result, lake and crop yields suffered due to diminished snow and ice and drier conditions across central and northern Canada.
