Acceptance of Call at Greensboro Pentecostal Assembly
AIr. Roberson an ordained Assemblies of God minister has accepted the call to Greensboro Pentecostal Assembly and will reside in Greensboro. He brings thirty two years of ministry and has helped build several Churchs in the U S and Canada. Reverend Horace Carter oversaw the church building opened October 10 1950 and continues as supervisor of engineering in government projects. Carter is from Wilmington and now serves in Barclay.

First Benton P T A Meeting Highlights School Updates
The Denton P T A opened the year at the high school with President Mrs. Thomas Evern gam presiding. New teachers were introduced, and reports noted 216 primary pupils, 236 elementary, and 322 high school students, plus auditorium renovations and new classroom furniture. The Lions Club funded playgrounds and a high school grounds project. funds from magazine sales and lunch sales supported the school. A reading focus will replace child study classes, and a forum followed a film on Individual Differences. Upcoming events include a mass membership drive, a clothing exchange, and the Lions Club minstrel with a state P T A convention in late October.

Roberts Receives Two Year Assignment at Rome Embassy
William T. Roberts II of Denton has been called by the U S State Department for a two year assignment with the American Embassy in Rome Italy. He is the son of Mr and Mrs O E Roberts of Denton and recently earned an honorable Marine Corps discharge with citations. A Caroline High School graduate he attended St Johns College in Annapolis before enlisting. After two weeks of State Department briefing in Washington he left by air for Rome last Friday.

Korean War Hero Sgt Johnson Decorated with Silver Star
Sgt. First Class Paul N. Johnson of Denton received the Silver Star for gallantry on November 23, 1950 near Majon ni Korea. He exposed himself to heavy fire to evacuate the wounded, directed counter fire, maneuvered machineguns, contacted a ROK Marine unit for reinforcements, and led the patrol 14 miles to friendly lines.
