Wage Agreement Reached By Telephone Company

A telephone company and its union representing installation maintenance construction and clerical staff reached a wage agreement. Basic weekly increases of 1.50 to 2.50 raise top rates to 88.00 for plant craftsmen and 56.50 for service reps with overtime and night pay. The public stake hinges on whether higher wages push up telephone bills, while the company promises fair treatment and continued service at low rates.
