Norman North 37 Easton, claiming kin to John Clarence North, facing jail on a charge of collecting $6 under false pretences as an insurance agent. Arrested at his Easton home by Trooper Emil C. Myers after a complaint by Mrs. Cora Stanford of Denton. Stanford says North took $6 last July and vanished, seen once on a Denton street before fleeing in a car. He is married with five children. The Willing Workers Circle meets at Mrs. Raymond Lutz's home on Monday Nov 19 at 7 30 p m with hostesses Mrs. Margaret Kline and Mrs. Mahala Alston.

Dr Thomas To Be Honored By Alumni
The portrait of Dr Ida Belle Wilson Thomas head of the history department at State Teachers College Salisbury will be unveiled during Homecoming on Saturday. Painted by Salisbury artist Dorothy Mitchell the gift from the Alumni Association honors 26 years of her service as alumni advisor. Dr Thomas, born in Worcester County and now a Salisbury resident, is known as a lecturer in Colonial Eastern Shore history and serves with the Wicomico Woman's Club and the Maryland Federation of Woman's Clubs. Funeral services for Mrs Sophie Ringe Coyle were held at Rawlings Funeral Home Greensboro with burial in Greensboro Cemetery. she died at 62 from a heart attack and leaves husband John Coyle and sister Miss Mae Ringe.

Bay ferry workers warn of insufficient staff to run the system as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge approaches opening next July. About 135 of some 270 workers petitioned Governor McKeldin and state officials, saying the six month pay lump sum plan and other provisions are inadequate to secure continued employment and benefits. They seek immediate study, a pension system, a right to seek other state jobs with retention benefits, housing-oriented priority, and Governor intervention if ferries are reassigned or sold.
