Christmas Seal Campaign Opens in Caroline County
The Caroline County tuberculosis association will launch its annual Christmas Seal Campaign on Nov 16 to support work against TB and other respiratory diseases. Campaign chair Mrs Irvin Brumbaugh says TB case rates remain stubborn and RD threats grow, urging resources for eradication and control.

County to Observe Foster Parent Week in Caroline
Caroline County will honor foster parents this week under a state program highlighting Maryland’s foster care services. Co chairs Mrs Tayloe Lewis and Mrs Quentin Walsh say the effort will praise volunteers and urge public support. There are 65 foster homes caring for 125 children, with 34 from other counties. Five local youths are placed outside the county. The greatest need is homes for youths aged 12 to 18. Inquiries to County Welfare Board at Denton. Foster care began in 1938 and grew after the 1946 Juvenile Court Act.
