Caroline Post No 29 of the American Legion invites all ex service men to a Decoration Day gathering on the Court House Green Sunday May 29 at 1 pm. A forty piece band will perform. Veterans from Civil War to present will be asked to attend. autos provided to Denton and parade care for veterans families emphasized. No uniforms required.

Preschool Clinic Gives Free Health Checks for Soon-To-Be First Graders
Parents of 267 children eligible for school next fall could have their youngsters examined this month at six centers Greensboro Denton Preston Federalsburg Ridgely Henderson. Of 267, 136 were examined, with many needing dental care vaccination and treatment for car and throat troubles. Some underweight children were noted and advised to improve diet over the summer. The State Board of Health led by Dr. Katherine Goodson urged early summer vaccinations to prevent sore arms at school entry and encouraged parents to seek medical checks if the free clinics were missed.

The eighteenth annual Decoration Day Service, under Caroline Council No. 175 Jr O U A M and Caroline Post No 29 American Legion, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 30 in Denton cemetery. The parade forms at the Court House with Junior Order Veterans of Foreign Wars American Legion Veterans of Civil War and others, including the Denton Band. Key events include graves decoration taps singing America prayers addresses by Prof William R Howell and Rev F W Kirwan, with Miss Caroline Greenly and Miss Madeline Cheezum assisting.
