Easton to get a furniture factory and local growth
Easton plans a furniture factory while nearby towns like Salisbury Denton and Easton share East End naming. A busy scene includes homes, schools and businesses: a farmer builds near Greensboro, Mr Elias W Williamson to build multiple houses on Sixth street, and local firms advertise property sales with legal notices. Citizens attend events, watch for new sidewalks, and participate in school and public meetings as community activity buzzes.

Shad Hatchery Tales Stir Dover Bridge Fools and Dreams
Henry Carroll recalls a neighbor John Willoughby who claims to hatch shad from duck eggs. He supposedly fills duck eggs with live fish eggs, incubates them under a pond, and predicts hatches by ear. The tale spirals into wit, patent schemes, and warnings about unchecked experimentation.

Hayes Triumph in Ballimore Mayoral Fight Under New Charter
Hon Thomas G Hayes the Democratic mayoral nominee defeated Republican William T Malster by 8712 votes in Baltimore Tuesday last. Democrats swept second and most first branch seats, in a quiet election under the new charter. The turnout showed strong Democratic gains across wards and signals a return to city political moorings. Col J Frank Supplee says Baltimore is a Democratic city and the state may follow in November and 1900. The charter now makes many offices elective, reducing the number appointed.
