Educator Ad dresses Caro line in Denton talk

Colonel Amos W. W. Woodcock, Salisbury native and former federal prohibition director, now president of St. John's College, told the Caroline County Teachers Association meeting in Denton courthouse that jobs for ten million young people, including a million in college, are a chief national problem. He argued college trains how to live, not merely earn a living, and that a college opens the world of ideas and appreciation. A music program followed with a violin solo by Peter Hoffman and vocal solos by Viggo Rathke and a Greensboro High School Boys Glee Club quartet.
