Evening program features a Sunday School Prayer meeting on Wednesday and choir rehearsal on Thursday as usual. Ames Chapel Hobbs holds a morning service and sermon at 9 30 a m followed by Sunday School.
Rev N J Miller leads Church of the Brethren services with eight oclock evening talk Watchers at the Cross on Friday gospel at 11 am and 8 pm Sunday worship and sermon titles include A Question About Immortality and What the Cross Means to Me The Mardela District Conference meets at Ridgely Church April 1 at 9 am with basket lunch served.
Rev. Carl E. Range presides over Good Friday devotion from noon to 3 PM and Easter Day Holy Communion at 7 AM followed by Church School at 9 45. Rev Francis Hensel announces Good Friday Stations and Veneration of the Cross at 3 pm in Denton and 7 30 pm in Ridgely. Confessions follow Devotions and again on Holy Saturday at 6 30 pm. Easter Sunday Masses are 9 30 am at St Elizabeths and 8 am at St Benedicts Ridgely.
The Youth Fellowship opened with hymns and Nancy Strong led Bible reading. A Bible story was read, and the group plans a brief session due to the cantata. A good turnout is hoped for Easter Sunrise Service at Garland Lake at 7:00 a.m. next Sunday.
After brief devotions the group discussed a program to aid a starving Italian family in Rome. Monthly parcels of food and clothing would be sent to each family member for a year starting in April. Vivian Needles chairs the committee and will collect donations. Tea sandwiches provided by Needles, ginger ale by the hostess. Revival continues with expected further conversions in the next week and a half as Mr. Brooks preaches.
In loving remembrance of my dear husband Grover C Passwaters who departed this life six years ago March 29 1939. Six years have passed dear husband since you were called away. How well I remember that sad day. You are gone but not forgotten and thoughts of you are near. Sadly missed by his wife sons and daughters.
In sorrowful memory of Emma Frances Legg our beloved sister who died January 23 1945. We are lonely and sad at heart. You were our joy and sunshine. Our life is lonesome, home is sad, our hearts are filled with pain. Death has robbed us of the one we thought was ours for years. Sisters and brother.
The Peoples Bank of Denton directors express regret and sorrow over the loss of H. Clay Hobbs a valued reader and leader. He helped shape the bank and town public life and his death is noted with sympathy extended to his family. Further resolution follows.
The Y. W. A. group gathered at the home of councilor Mrs. Horace Howard for their meeting in a Baptist community note.
A condolence resolution expresses sorrow and sympathy and directs a copy to the deceased’s family and publication in the Denton Journal. Committee members Harry H Nuttle Earle Smith and William Croll sign the resolution.

Mrs. Harrison Nashold hosted visitors over the weekend with her children Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Collins and daughter Jerry. Also present were Mrs. G. H. Nashold Jr. and Mrs. Thos Steward with Miss Phyllis Anne Nashold who visited Washington and Mrs Steward's daughter in Fort Belvoir Virginia last week.
