Increase In Egg Production Reaches New High

Four million cases of eggs, 120000000 dozen, were consumed in 1922, a record year. Government campaigns urged higher production and a conservative estimate suggests Americans ate 36000000000 eggs last year. The rise is linked to wartime farmer motivation and strong markets. Efforts now target reducing losses from broken and spoiled eggs through better handling.
