Commissioners Weigh Reassuming County Roads Jurisdiction
Caroline County commissioners and state roads officials discussed whether the county could resume control of roads. Since 1933 the state has maintained them, lowering the tax rate from 1.30 to 0.73. Eveland notes a possible 1 cent levy if control returns. Ev eland says many counties already switched for better maintenance and input. No decision was made, study continues with experts.
