Local notes from Denton area report roads harming business
A Denton era column notes snow blocked roads dulling commerce, scarce delivery of steamer service, and continued travel woes. It lists local sales, farm goods, acreage and business moves including Redden selling a Fifth Avenue home for 3500, and Whitby selling half interest in the canning business. The piece also mentions community notices such as church services, a schoolhouse bill, and a charity drive to aid Near East starving.
Maryland Delaware road linking bills in legislature
Two road measures seek to connect Maryland and Delaware road systems. Caroline county would build a durable road to the state line in cooperation with Maryland roads officials and Delaware authorities. A separate proposal would require auto owners to post securities for damages before registration. Delegate Brumbaugh and Delegate Jones appear among noted sponsors.
