Lanamaker’s advertises LR corsets promising good fit without high names. Multiple weights and colors priced from 75c to 1.50 with French coutil on the top line. The copy urges trying the LR line by any $2 corset and claims strong value and comfort.
From the Agricultural Mutual Aid Society in Denton Caroline Coo MD reports membership fees annual dues and assets. Medical examiners fees and other sources list various expenditures. Total expenditures during year amount to 2 853 47 and total business reflects overall activity.
Public auction to be held in Denton at the court house door on March 12 1889 from 2 to 4 pm. Property 1 a 24 by 30 foot store with acre of land in American Corners worth about 3500 dollars built in 1884. Property 2 a 20 acre tract with dwelling and outbuildings along the American Corners Federalsburg road. Parcels offered separately then as a whole with payments: half cash or secured note in 10 days, remainder in nine months secured by purchaser’s note and security. Possession on ratification.

Notice from the Office of the County Commissioners Denton Maryland dated February 6 1889 invites sealed proposals by March 5 for building a new county road in the Fourth election district from Poplar Neck School House to Marsh Farm and beyond to Choptank with thirty foot wide roadway and necessary bridges drains and lumber. Also invites proposals for a Marsh Creek bridge 70 feet long with specified timber and pier details to be completed and inspected before payment. bids may be rejected.
The Maryland Institute shows a transformed appearance after a full structure repaint funded by the mayor and city council. Theodore Oster oversaw the project using New Jersey Enamel Paint Company products praised by the Institute officials for quality and longevity.
