Maryland's Summer Resorts on the Line of the Railroad
The Baltimore and Eastern Shore Railroad will run through service from Washington and Baltimore to Ocean City by early August. The line from St. Michael's to Preston operates on regular schedules and Salisbury completion will trigger rebuilding of the Worcester and Pocomoke to the ocean shore. Bay City terminal works progress and a grand summer plan features camping groves, a revived Tighman farm tract, and a pavilion near Eastern Bay. The project spans about a hundred miles, cost one and a half million dollars, with telegraph soon after trains begin, and strong engineering for chestnut ties and steel rails.
