Weeded Wheat Crops Boost Maryland Yields
A Maryland study claims removing two weeds can raise yearly wheat value by 300000 dollars and eradicating garlic could add 600000 more. With 600000 acres planted this year, about 54000 acres would be seed, averaging 1.25 acres per farm. Seed-cleaning labor costs are put at less than one man-day per farm, with crop quality improving by about 16 per acre planted for seed.

Ferry link would connect Baltimore with Eastern Shore via Kent Island
John N. Mackall of the State Roads Commission argues for a cross peninsula ferry from Log Inn near Anne Arundel shore to Kent Island with artificial harbors. He says the route requires about 15 miles of new road across the peninsula, plus rail connections to Washington and Baltimore, and would cut Baltimore to Shore trips to about 20 minutes by boat.

In loving remembrance of my dear mother Mrs Martha J Richards who departed this life May 21 1923.
