Levy Coast Proceedings Hear Objections On Library Levy
County Commissioners on Tuesday received the report by Lapham Jarrell and Parvis on the Old Town Branch in the First Election district and set Tuesday July 6 to hear objections to ratification. Notice warns all accounts against the county must be filed by June 30. A delegation urged establishing a free county circulating library under a plan of the State Library Commission. The law allows a five cent levy per hundred dollars of property for libraries, but it is not mandatory. A full discussion will be held next Tuesday in the court room. Roy Stockwell of the Maryland Tuberculosis Association lectured at the Court House on the fight to exterminate consumption, with stereopticon views illustrating the disease and its prevention.
