The Close of School
A reflective piece on summer vacation as a red letter day for students and teachers. It contrasts pupil attitudes from grade to high school, notes parental and school authorities often hold differing views, and humorously suggests college reversals in decision making.
Editorial notes on farm relief and wheat prices
The piece argues the Hoover administration has failed to deliver farm relief as wheat prices decline sharply. It cites a drop costing farmers hundreds of millions, compares Chicago Winnipeg prices despite a 42 cent tariff, and asserts Canadian prices reward farmers more than U S markets. It warns of potential bankruptcies for winter wheat producers.
