Strawberries on the decrease and a late season forecast
Strawberries are thinning with about three cars moved daily. If cool weather lasts a week longer the season may not end before June 15, aiming at seven weeks, a record for this fruit. Prices have been good, despite crop shortages from frosts and insects, ensuring solid returns for growers. Several local residents and visitors from Centreville, Camden, East Orange, Wilmington, and Philadelphia are noted in brief visits and family gatherings amid harvest optimism. Wheat looks fine with a good crop expected.
