Holstein Judging School Held in County
Holstein breeders from Caroline Dorchester Talbot and Queen Anne's Counties attended a Holstein judging school on farms near American Corner and Chestnut Grove. John Morris of the University of Maryland outlined ideal dairy cow traits including large size good conformation strong feet and legs and well attached udders. The event highlighted how breeding and production testing can improve herds with examples of long lived cows and descendants. Entries due for the Eastern Shore Holstein Field Day on August 12 are requested by July 3 with show regulations and health requirements noted.
