Household goods to be sold at public sale at the seller's home at the corner of Gay and 3rd streets in Denton Maryland beginning at 1 p m rain or shine with items including beds springs and mattresses bureaus wash stands chairs rockers dining tables china and glassware cooking utensils range garden tools and other assorted items.
In the Circuit Court for Caroline county equity case No. 3023 Chy the sale of property reported by the assignee is ordered ratified and confirmed unless cause to the contrary is shown by September 1. A copy of this order must run once a week for four weeks in Caroline county newspapers before August 1. The report states sales amounting to $1,000. True Copy Test.
Eastern Shore hatcherymen gathered at the Courthouse for a Maryland program to raise chick quality and shield hatcheries from outside competition. A committee will draft plans for better baby chick stock, blood testing costs were noted as reduced, and a uniform stock owners contract was urged to curb egg bidding. Attendees included agents and secretaries from Dorchester, Wicomico, Talbot, Caroline, and other counties.
The fourth annual Caroline County Cattle Show will be held Wednesday August 3 in Ridgely. Holstein Guernsey and Jersey classes include heifers under and over 15 months cows 2 to 3 years and 3 years plus bulls under and over 2 years. 4-H Club classes mirror ages. A program committee led by H C Harrington and others will judge cattle hold a judging contest and demonstrations by Boys 4-H Clubs.
Harry Hubbard age 45 died instantly when his car left the Greensboro Denton highway near Langmaid Poultry Farm after a tire blew out and overturned. Hubbard, returning from Harrington with Robert Porter, was moved to a Denton doctor where he died. Survived by a widow and three children, services were held at his Piney home with Greens boro cemetery interment.
The Winter Garden Revue at the Kent and Sussex Fair features stage and screen women who stay fashion current. Producers delayed costumes two weeks before touring to dress principals and chorus in Paris and Hollywood styled outfits and prize winning copies from major shows.
Caroline County Farm Bureau schedules July meetings in Preston Denton Ridgely Greensboro Henderson and Federalsburg at 8 p m to plan a Tax Legislative Program ahead of the winter state legislature. Speakers include Dr S H DeVault Miles Fairbank and W Paul Walker. Local committees may be named to aid in reducing state and county taxes for farms.
The Maryland State Horticultural Society plans three district meetings this summer instead of one central gathering. Topics include market conditions and insect damage. Speakers include J A Cahill Dr Ernest Cory Dr Thomas Symons and A F Vierhellar. Meetings run July 18 20 and 22 at orchards from Smithsburg Bel Air and Easton with a lunch program and brief talks. Officers are G L Carpenter president G R Canby secretary and A F Vierhellar assistant secretary treasurer.
The Plaza Theatre announces a sensational run with Tom Mix in his first talking picture on Friday and Saturday July 15-16, plus a free $35 cash giveaway to lucky-number holders on July 18. Weekly showings include Claudia Dell, Zasu Pitts, Claudette Colbert in The Wiser Sex, Marian Nixon with Ralph Bellamy in Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, Greta Garbo in As You Desire Me, and Buck Jones in High Speed.
