A local advertisement lists women and children's apparel with substantial markdowns. Crepe de chine dresses drop from 22 dollars to 14.98, house dresses from 2.25 to 1.98, children's rompers 1.25 to .89, and children's dresses 2.00 to 1.69.
A village wedding featured a comical mix up when the bride was wed to her best man. The best man had taken the groom’s duties, and the ceremony had to be repeated after the groom was unable to recall the vows. Laughable incidents followed, including a groom asking the bride to “clean my boots” and a bride forgetting gloves and rushing the moment.
