Editorial Notes on Fiction Portrayal of Country Life
An editorial critical of writers who depict country life as dreary or dull defends rural life as satisfying for many farmers. It cites observers and political inquirers and argues depictions are biased. The piece also notes the Democratic National Convention pausing to honor President Coolidge after the death of Calvin Coolidge Jr., with Rabbi Wise presenting a condolence resolution.

Shore Transit Line, Inc. secured a permit to operate a motor bus service between Tolchester and McLeans Corner from the Public Service Commission last week. The commission will issue a conditional permit and order allowing Shores Line Bus to run to Tolchester with passengers originating at points not less than five miles north east or south of Chestertown. The ruling protects Vernon M. Harnett's long standing Tolchester Chestertown service while giving Shore Line access to passengers from routes beyond Chestertown and Talchester.
