Editorial notes on Harding trip and Democratic poll
The piece notes President Harding’s western trip drew steady, not enthusiastic crowds and occasional shocks in his World Court speech. It cites Agriculture Department data showing 14 million agricultural workers, including 2 million women, making up 29 percent of employed Americans, facing low prices and little return for two years. It also reports Literary Digest polling Democratic leaders favoring McAdoo, with Ford next, and remarks prosperity nearly within reach though prices remain inflated. Major Garey assumes St Johns presidency as Fell retires, with calls for broad cooperation to rehabilitate the college.
