Funeral services for Mrs Nannie Lee Rhodes 79 former Queen Anne postmaster were held January 24 at the Catholic Church Ridgely. Burial followed at Easton cemetery. She died after a long illness at her Queen Anne home. Survived by husband Charles and daughter Rita Clark who also became postmistress. Requiem Mass was at St Benedicts Ridgely. Pallbearers included Charles I Boyle and others.

Funeral services for 72 year old Norman Bickling were conducted Tuesday at 2 p m at the Raymond B Rawlings funeral parlor Greensboro with Rev Charles E Davis of St Pauls Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in Greensboro Cemetery. He died Thursday after a short illness at his son Herbert Bickling s home in Wilmington. He was a native of Henderson and had lived in Greeley Colorado for years. Survived by widow Elizabeth and children Mrs Wilbur Andrew of Denton Mrs Fred Keeneman of Ridgely Herbert C of Wilmington John P of Eaton Colo Norman M and Mrs Clara Stoffregen of Greeley Colo Melvin T of Greeley Colo 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Born in Chillicothe Ohio he was a former pastor in Delaware and Allentown and survived by his wife four sons and his father Edward Uhrig of Columbus Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon by Dr W L Surbrook president of Pilgrim Bible School Kernesville North Carolina.

Mrs Downes Died in Newark After Ill Health
Mrs. John R. Downes died in her sleep at home in Newark Delaware on January 21. She was a Goldsboro native, daughter of the late Robert and Adaline Jarrell, and lived in Preston where Dr. Downes practiced medicine for many years. Survived by her husband, one son Captain Robert N. Downes US Navy at Norfolk, a brother T Noble Jarrell Goldsboro, a sister Mrs Mary T Rowe Hillsboro, and half brother Edward Jarrell Goldsboro. Known as a kind woman active in community affairs. Funeral services and interment were in Newark on January 24.
