Debutante Party Shadows Cherry's Dream of Romance
Cherry Rawlings endures a grand San Francisco debutante party hosted by Mrs Porter. Jealousy flares as Fran and Kelly Coates linger apart, while Cherry grapples with longing for Kelly and resentment toward Amy Marshbanks and her own social ambitions. The night ends with Dorothy Page-Smith in tears and Cherry questioning her future.
