Spanish Professor Speaks To Denton Rotary on Folklore
Dr Frank Goodwyn of Maryland University, a Texas born former King Ranch cowboy, spoke to the Denton Rotary on Latin American folklore. He outlined ballads and tales from Mexico, noted Spanish vowel richness aids rhyme, and shared a Mexican tale of a cheeky soul who outwitted Hades and St Peter. He is teaching Spanish by television on Channel 2 Baltimore at 6:30 am.

Denton town officials including Mayor G W Beck and attorney W H VanSant met in Baltimore with the State Roads Commission to discuss a northern by pass versus a through pass. An engineering survey and consideration of local wishes were promised. An informal poll showed townspeople favor a northern by pass two to one, while area residents outside Denton favored the through route eight to one.

The Caroline County Hounds and Hunters Association met in Chambers Park Federalsburg with about 50 of 125 members present.
