Little Now Remains of Old Oregon Trail

In southwestern Wyoming traces of the historic Oregon trail survive but fade as time passes. The wagon road from the Big Sandy river at Pacific Springs to Cokesville on the Idaho boundary stretches about a hundred miles. sagebrush overgrowth and ranch barbed wire diminish the wagon ruts, leaving only occasional signs of a bygone generation. A newer motor road follows a similar route from Granger to Cokesville and then across Oregon to Portland, but it does not exactly match the original wagon path.
