Festival notices brighten Grove and Bridgetown churches
Notes from several local festivals raise funds for schools and churches. A February orange festival at Grove School under Miss Collie E. Kelley funded a school library. Whiteley’s school plans a Martha Washington tea on March 5 led by Miss Edith Williams. The Ladies’ Mite Society hosted a Court House festival raising over 47. Williamson’s Free School enjoyed a pleasant Monday evening, contributing a neat sum. Bridgetown girls will host an oyster supper for church support on March 4 and 6, and a Japanese tea tops Chilton’s offerings tonight. Pickup: a letter on postal reform advocates free delivery, a private-mule route to Denton could become postal service, plus new crush hats at Dannock’s.
