At a Caro line County Health Association meeting in Denton, officials said 10000 more is required by March 1 to access Federal and State funds for a county Health Center. The drive urges county residents to donate immediately to Caroline County Health Center, Denton, Maryland, with local clubs contributing 50 and 100 dollars respectively.
A 1951 raid near Greensboro Maryland led State's Attorney Wise, Sheriff An drew, Deputy Andrew, Constable Dennis and Cpl Koste to Steve Clough home where Clough was charged with maintaining a gambling place. Others at the scene were seized for gambling with cards and faced a Denton judge. All pleaded guilty except Russell Imord and were fined 50 dollars plus costs. Clough received 60 days in Caroline County Jail.
The Ilomemakers Club will hold a meeting on February 27 at the home of Mrs. Raymond Smith with Mrs. Ruth Todd as co host. Miss Bessie Spafford will attend this meeting. Everyone is urged to attend.
Mr Paul Gore Booth head of British Information Services and former head of the European Recovery Department spoke at the Denton Rotary Club. He traced postwar British history the Marshall plan role in economic recovery and joint efforts with the United States to keep the free world strong. He highlighted democracy tolerance and shared interests between Britain and the United States.
The American Legion Auxiliary Caroline Post No 29 will host an annual Fashion Show at Denton Armory on Thursday at 8 PM with Benjamin's of Salisbury as sponsor. Local women and girls from Denton and nearby towns will model spring wardrobes, with a complete wardrobe displayed hourly. Proceeds go to the Auxiliary. refreshments and local entertainment promise a family friendly event chaired by Mrs. Hamilton Hallowell.
The Denton Community Club met at the Club House on Friday February 16. Miss Mary Stinson demonstrated magazine style food presentation and cooking details. She prepared pot roasted chicken, egg omelet with stuffed tomatoes, and an oyster casserole while praising Eastern Shore Public Service for support and the new General Electric range.
Applications for new 1951 52 license plates for passenger cars and motorcycles will not be mailed out until February 23, 1951. Plates for these two classes go on sale February 26, 1951 and may be displayed on March 15. Applications for all other vehicle classes will be mailed later in March and go on sale April 1.

A meeting of about fifty residents in the two county town of Queen Anne voted to form a corporate town, establish limits, begin a survey, and present incorporation to the General Assembly in Annapolis. Horace M. Morgan led the group guiding initial steps and named Allen Moore John Decker and Morgan as town commissioners for one year.
The Five County Leaders Club launches the third annual Girl Scout Rally at Easton Armory on March 10, gathering troops from Kent Queen Annes Talbot Caroline Dorchester Worcester Somerset Northampton and Accomac Counties. Ruth W. Tate will preside with flag ceremonies at 10 30 am, and the program includes skits songs folk dancing and a Camp Todd talk. Attendance averages around five hundred. camp will be at Williston near Denton this year instead of Elk Neck.

Jarrelyn Ann Legg, senior at St Mary's Seminary Junior College in St Marys City Maryland, was chosen unanimously by her college faculty as Apple Blossom Princess to represent the college at Winchester Virginia's festival on May 3 and 4. Daughter of Carlton Russum Legg and Mrs Legg of Denton, she is a Caroline High School graduate of 1949 known as Judy.
Mrs Alice Margaret Hickel wife of Albert Hickel of Denton and a retired consulting chemical engineer died in Memorial Hospital Easton after two months illness. Daughter of Louis and Margaret White of New York she graduated Pratt Institute Brooklyn in 1901 and worked as librarian and personnel director until 1948. She belonged to American Library Association Chicago Library Club and National Association of Librarians funeral held at Christ Protestant Episcopal Church Denton yesterday at 2 pm burial in Denton Cemetery.
The Maryland General Assembly honors the Boy Scouts of America during Anniversary Week. House and Senate resolutions commend the organization for character building and youth development, noting Maryland’s 40,000 scouts and nationwide reach. Resolutions direct copies to the Maryland Boy Scouts head.
The Greensboro Lion's Club Minstrels, sponsored by the Greensboro School PTA, are praised as a top home talent show in Caroline County. Aiming to entertain the whole family, the event features singing, jokes, and specialty acts over two nights, March 7 and 8, at the Greensboro School Auditorium. Tickets are available from PTA members. proceeds support two worthy groups.

Federalsburg defeated Queen Anne 2 to 0 in Sunday’s Denton match. Semi final playoffs set for February 25 with Kent Island at Ridgely and Federalsburg at Greensboro, kickoff 2 15 P M.

Louis and Madeline Dennis American missionaries to China and natives of the Eastern Shore will address congregations of First and Grace Methodist Churches and The Church of The Brethren at First Methodist Church Sunday evening at 7 30. Dennis was a Peninsula Methodist Conference member before going to China about fifteen years ago and last served at Concord. Evacuated from China during the Communist invasion, they returned to the United States. The public is invited to attend this service sponsored by the Christian Comrade Class and the Good Cheer Bible Class with a free will offering.
The Girl All-Stars of the B S League will meet Goldey Business College this Saturday night at Georgetown in the All Star game. Goldey’s 7 7 1 record features a top forward averaging over 18 points per game and the league’s second highest scorer. Dorothy Hallowell of the All Stars averages 18 5 per game, promising a strong scoring duel. Denton fans will see independent style versus college play, with Ruth Pippin and Anna Brubaker among the Denton participants. The double feature includes the Maryland Delaware All Stars boys league game following the girls.
Girl Scout Troop No 1 held a Valentine Party on February 15 1951 at Mrs Thomas Everns. The Humming Birds hosted and games and refreshments including punch candy cake and cookies were served. We practiced songs for the Girl Scout Rally on March 10. Everyone enjoyed the event.
