On February 14 Everngam's launches a White Sale with new items and substantial savings 25 to 50 percent through February 24. The sale emphasizes early buyers securing the best bargains on ginghams towels and fabrics with reduced prices on suits and overcoats for final clearance.
Vintage department store ad lists Special-21 pieces of ginghams in blue, pink, lavender, red and black checks and plaids, 32 inches wide, now 19c. Also offers men’s Eclipse dress shirts at half price with broken sizes, assorted fabrics, and collars. Includes wool dress materials, coatings, serges, and assorted price cuts on children and men’s apparel, shoes, hats, caps, and pants.
A 1923 vignette follows Catherine Morton whose sister Peggy faces family demands. Catherine overextends caring for ill mother and children, then returns home with Doctor Summers. a mutual realization of need and duty emerges as they acknowledge reliance on each other.
A brief note recalls David Lindsay the Scottish explorer who mapped northern Australia and discovered the auriferous fields of Western Australia, later aiding mineral development and railway planning.
