Two Harrington farmers turn $2,750 into six years of profits
A Milford Chronicle writer recounts the rise of Joshua B. Raughley’s two sons who began with $2,750 to build two farms between Harrington and Felton. They cut timber, grew truck crops and fruits, paid off the mortgage, expanded buildings, and by last season sold $6,000 in produce while maintaining living from the farms. They could fetch $10,000 to $12,000 for the properties today, illustrating practical farming success with careful study and management.
