Murder and Mystery Near Elk River Find
A young man’s body, about twenty three, was found in the Elk River near Chesapeake City by a tug boat crew. He had a bullet wound above the right ear and a bruise over the right eye, was neatly dressed, and carried a diary with names including John M Willis. The death is suspected murder for robbery as the pockets held little, and the body appeared to have been in water days. A possible lead links to a nephew of William H Deen of Fowling Creek, but no identification has been confirmed and officials await further word from Caroline parties.
