Maryland canning acreage up seven percent since nineteen thirty-two
Maryland farmers now devote 84,350 acres to vegetable crops for processing up from 79,200 in 1932, a seven percent rise. American Can Company economist Dr. H E Michl notes the shift boosts canning and can making industries, providing thousands of jobs and large payrolls while supporting state prosperity.
