Work On 1938 Conservation To Start Soon

Educational work on the 1938 conservation program in Maryland counties will begin soon under Dr. T. B. Symons of the University of Maryland extension service. Delays stem from pending farm bill legislation in Washington. The plan may modify details but not core features, aiming to boost soil conservation and economic gains for farmers. Each farmer will learn three points early: total payment, soil depleting goal, and soil building goal. Farms split into two groups with distinct deplete and building requirements, plus special goals for commercial potatoes and tailored provisions for vegetable growers and orchardists.
