Carolinians Triumph at Maryland Poultry Show Prizes
The fourth annual State Poultry Products Show in Baltimore January 15 to 17 drew over 200 egg entries and 30 chick entries from eleven Maryland counties. Winners across classes include C. W. Roberts of Landover and W. W. Hopkins of Cordova for best eggs, Hines Hatchery of Olney for best hatchery awards, and Clifford Smith of Monkton among top brown eggs. Special awards went to Maryland Virginia Poultry Products Incorporated, Purity Creamery Company, and J. R. Eddington of Federalsburg, with multiple sweepstakes honors awarded to Hines Hatchery and Eddington.

Will 313 Be Repaired By Next Spring
Negotiations between the State Roads Commission and Ulysses G Todd owner of the Williston mill dam have ended with the deed for the mill dam right of way signed and a rebuilding contract for route 313 expected to be awarded. The project will reconnect the county seat with southern points, though severe weather may delay work. Todd agrees to contribute dirt to fill the gap and to manage floodgates. an additional floodgate will be added.

Farmers to Fight Tax Opposing processing taxes in Maryland and beyond
Maryland farmers led by Harry Nuttle of the Maryland Farm Bureau Federation oppose restoring processing taxes. Census of Business starts canvass in nine counties
Daniel W. Davis announced the 1935 Business Census began on January 30 in this area with 40 enumerators soon to be named. Denton will host offices and 44 staff will handle the operation, which covers nine counties and includes banking, insurance, construction, transportation, warehousing, and non profit entities.
